STRENGTH TRAINING

Strength training or resistance training involves the performance of physical exercises which are designed to improve strength and endurance. It is often associated with the use of weights. Suitable for all fitness levels. Strength training makes you stronger and fitter, protects bone health and muscle mass, helps develop better body mechanics, controls body fat and reduces risk of injury

BODY BALANCE

An infusion of Pilates, Tai-Chi and Yoga. This class aims to develop balance, flexibility and strength thus renewing the body and soul. You’ll strengthen your entire body and leave the class feeling calm and centered. Happy. Body Balance improves strength and muscle tone, improves joint mobility and flexibility, can reduce stress levels and help mental well-being.

Pilates

Builds overall body strength and tone with a focus on core stability. During this mat-based class you will also increase body awareness and mobility while relaxing and energising your mind. Suitable for all fitness levels. It is the perfect workout for your entire body, places no pressure on joints, is adaptable to many fitness levels and needs, develops core strength and improves posture and promotes weight loss

Yoga

Yoga sessions are suitable for all ages and levels of fitness, encouraging self-observation and awareness. The focus is on breathing, stretching the spine and developing strength and stamina. yoga improves flexibility and improves muscle strength, perfects your posture and protects your spine, increases your blood flow, makes you happier, increases your focus and improves your balance and boosts your immune system.

Mindful Tai Chi

Tai Chi class will be doing Mindfulness, followed by Tai Chi exercises, where the participants will experience self-awareness and calmness for daily life. The class will practice the following: Mindfulness, Five Animal Mimic, Eight Pieces of Brocade, Muscle Tendon Changing and Various of Yang Style Tai Chi. This class will enhance the immune system, reduce stress, ease joint pain and help build strength and stamina.

Barre

An up temp class, combining ballet positions and Pilates exercises. A great way to tone, increase flexibility and mobility. The class is a hybrid of both Ballet and Pilates, combining movement to music with the key principles of Pilates. It focuses on low-impact, high-intensity movements designed to strengthen your body in ways that few other workouts can.

Adult Swimming Lessons

In addition to the benefits associated with learning to swim our adult lessons can also provide the following;

  • Extra confidence in the water by either improving your current stroke or learning a new one.
  • Gives you the confidence to pass on the knowledge be it to kids, grandchildren, nieces or nephews.
  • Knowing the proper swimming techniques is essential for preventing injury. Improper form can lead to pulled muscles and tendons, especially in your shoulders and back. If you injure yourself while swimming, you may have a harder time staying above water.
  • Greater efficiency. When you have accurate form, you’ll be able to swim longer distances before tiring out. This can keep you safer longer.

Adult Beginners

Tuesday 19.00-19.30

The beginners class is designed to introduce you to basic water strokes and movement through water. We will guide you through a series of tasks and strokes tailored to your individual needs, whether it’s building up your confidence in the water or introducing you to a new stroke.

Swimming Fitness

Tuesday 19.30-20.00

The improvers class is ideal for competent swimmers who want to improve their fitness and technique.
